South Australia is in the middle of its biggest construction program in a generation. Here is where the material is moving in October 2026, and how SA Bulk supports the contractors delivering it.

Infrastructure, tunnelling, roads, mining, quarries and plants: the sectors that move the most material in South Australia, served by our Civil Materials and Haulage divisions.
Major project packages: imported fill, select material and pavement products in, spoil out, delivered on per-tonne rates or with embedded trucks on day rates.
Tunnel spoil to disposal and reuse facilities, and backfill, bedding and drainage media back to the portal, with the truck cycle planned around the TBM and the surface storage shed.
PM1, PM2 and PM3 base and sub-base, sealing aggregates and sands, selected to DIT Master Specification and Austroads requirements by our civil engineers.
Bulk cartage and construction materials for mine sites, processing facilities and haul roads, backed by the group’s record hauling for resources clients in Western Australia.
Rate-card cartage from the bin to the customer’s site with dedicated trucks, directly employed drivers and spare cover, so the quarry’s customers get their loads.
Aggregates and sands into concrete, asphalt and precast plants, delivered to the bin on a schedule that keeps the plant producing, with product conformance checked on the way in.
We also supply builders, subdivision developers, councils and demolition contractors who need bulk material and a truck that turns up.
The projects shaping demand for quarry products, fill and spoil haulage in and around Adelaide right now.
The final 10.5 km of Adelaide’s North–South Corridor: twin tunnels under the inner south-west, linked by open motorway, completing a 78 km traffic-light-free run from Gawler to Old Noarlunga.
Three tunnel boring machines, Elizabeth, Mary and Catherine, are now underground at the same time, a first for an Australian road project. Spoil is carried by conveyor to the surface, then trucked to Gillman and a spoil reuse facility in the north-west. More than 5,000 people are working on the project.

Australia’s nuclear-powered submarine yard: a $3.9 billion first commitment, a new link road open, and the Skills and Training Academy under construction. Nearly 10,000 jobs across the program.
Tram grade separations at Marion Road and Cross Road, intersection widening and new paths through Adelaide’s inner south-west.
Freeway interchange upgrades for the Hills growth area, alongside the $365.8 million new Mount Barker Hospital, now topped out and due for completion by the end of 2027.
A 98-bed acute services building with new theatres and intensive care, part of a 160-bed expansion across Flinders and the Repat precinct.
Walker Corporation’s master-planned community for around 40,000 people, with more than 2,700 residents already living there and a district sportsground and college being built in 2026. A few minutes from our Burton yard.
Festival Tower Two ($1.3 billion), Market Square ($400 million), Keystone Tower ($400 million) and Arcadia ($350 million) are all out of the ground, with basement excavation and concrete supply to match.
Government-led renewal across the north, west and south: Seaton (about 1,450 homes), Southwark Grounds (about 1,700), Noarlunga (626 by 2031) and continuing releases at Playford Alive.
Project figures are from public government and developer announcements current to October 2026 and will change as the projects progress. SA Bulk is an independent supplier and is not an appointed contractor on these projects unless stated.
Major projects need trucks that are compliant on day one and still turning up in month eighteen.
Inducted, trained drivers, site clearances arranged in advance, Chain of Responsibility built into scheduling, and a docket for every load.
Five semi tippers today, new truck-and-dog sets arriving in stages, and a group fleet of more than 100 trucks behind us.
Excavated material to the disposal or reuse facility and imported fill or base back to site, with the cycle planned to cut empty running wherever the facility and quarry align.
Early starts, night shifts and weekend work where the project runs around the clock, with fatigue management planned into every roster.
